Closing of the Roundtable on Mediation – October 30, 2024

On the occasion of the closing of the commercial mediation training, organized in partnership with the Casablanca-Settat Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services and in collaboration with the French institution IFOMENE, the Casablanca Mediation and Arbitration Center held a roundtable titled “The Reality of Mediation.”

The event brought together numerous legal, economic, social, and human rights stakeholders interested in the field of mediation.

Notable speakers included:

Mr. Hassan Berkani, President of the Chamber and the Mediation and Arbitration Center

Ms. Aïcha Ennassiri, Chair of the Mediation Commission

Mr. Stéphane Bensimon, international expert and Director of IFOMENE

Mr. Jallouli Moussa, educational director and mediation expert

The discussions highlighted the importance of mediation as an alternative dispute resolution mechanism, recognized for its simplicity, speed, neutrality, and effectiveness in reducing the judicial workload.

Mediation also contributes to promoting social peace and strengthening trust among economic actors.

The speakers praised the Center’s role in promoting alternative dispute resolution methods and in providing ongoing training for mediators.

They also called on legal professionals (judges, lawyers, notaries, experts, accountants) to adopt and promote these credible mechanisms.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates of completion to the first group of commercial mediators.
